He graduated as a Master Pharmacist at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Medical University - Sofia in 1988.
In 2000, he specialized in medicinal plants and herbal medicine, followed by a specialization in the analysis of medicinal products in 2008.
Scientific supervisor of PhD students. Participated in a number of university PhD and postdoctoral research projects. He has developed numerous successful phytoproducts on the Bulgarian market. He is co-author of a number of scientific publications with impact factor. He is a member of the editorial board of the journal Farmacia and of the board of the Bulgarian Scientific Society of Pharmacy.
Scientific interests are in the field of pharmacognosy and phytochemistry, pharmacology and phytotherapeutics.
