Tsvetomira Ivanova obtained master's degrees in "Genetic and Cellular Engineering" and "Industrial Biotechnology" at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski in (2002) and "Molecular Biology" at the Public University of Barcelona, Spain (2008), where in 2012, she defended PhD thesis. From 2013 to 2017, she was a postdoctoral fellow in cell biology at CRG, PRBB, Barcelona, Spain. In 2020, she started as a researcher at NIMU, and from 2021 she is an assistant at the Department of Medical Biology at MU-Plovdiv.
Scientific interests are in the field of the organization of the genetic material in pro- and eukaryotic cells and its relation to cellular homeostasis, development and tumor suppression. Carcinogenase, inflammation and hypoxia-induced autophagy studies in colon tumors and their role in tumor resistance to therapy.
