She obtained bachelor and master degrees in Biology at University of Plovdiv Paisii Hilendarski where in 2014 defended her PhD tesis in Molecular biology.
Maria Gevezova joined the Department of Medical Biology at Medical University of Plovdiv as an assistant professor in 2017.
Her current scientific interests are related to the investigation of mitochondrial function in children with autism spectrum disorder with the tendency to apply the obtained results for personalized treatment. Her researchs also include in vitro testing of therapeutic agents on cell proliferation and vitality.
She has experience in preparation, implementation and management of scientific projects, as well as she is an author of many research articles.
