D-r Zlatina Tomova Tomova-Veleva was born in Plovdiv in 1980. In 1998 she graduated from the High School of Mathematics “Akad. Kiril Popov” and received an English certificate from the English Language School “Plovdiv”. In 2005 she received a master’s degree in dental medicine from Medical University of Plovdiv. In 2017 she started work as an assistant-professor in the department of Prosthetic Dental Medicine, Faculty of Dental Medicine, MU – Plovdiv. After defending a PhD thesis “Laboratory testing of corrosion resistance and tensile strength of base alloys for metal ceramics” she received a PhD degree in Prosthetic dental medicine in 2019. In 2020 she acquired speciality in Prosthetic dental medicine. She has successfully finished two university projects – СДП 14/2027 – “Laboratory testing of nickel-chromium and cobalt-chromium alloys for metal ceramics, produced by powder metallurgy methods” and ВУП 1/2020 – “Clinical evaluation of the biocompatibility of base dental alloy for selective laser melting and 3D printing”. She has more than 30 published scientific articles, more than 15 of which are indexed in SCOPUS and Web of Science. She has two published monographies – “Laser technologies in prosthetic dental medicine”, 2023 and “3D printing in prosthetic dental medicine”, 2023. She has been chief assistant professor in the department of Prosthetic Dental Medicine since 2021.
Her interests are in the field of prosthetic dental medicine, dental materials, CAD/CAM technologies. Her scientific research is in the area of biocompatibility of dental materials, corrosion of dental alloys, and oxidative stress in the oral cavity.
She takes part in the organization of courses of MU-Plovdiv, officially acknowledged by the Bulgarian Dental Union.
She has been running her own dental practice since 2006.
Интересите й са в областта на протетичната дентална медицина, денталното материалознание, CAD/CAM технологиите. Научните й изследвания са свързани с биопоносимостта на денталните материали, корозията на денталните сплави и оксидативния стрес в устната кухина.
Участва в организацията и провеждането на курсове към МУ-Пловдив, акредитирани от БЗС.
Притежава собствена дентална практика от 2006 г. до сега.
