Изследовател: Dr. Desislav Tomov

Dr. Desislav Tomov graduated in medicine from Medical University - Sofia, with a master’s degree in medicine. He acquired a master's degree in Health Management in 2012 at the Medical University - Plovdiv. In the same year, he obtained a specialization in Clinical Laboratory at the Medical University - Plovdiv. In the period 2015 - 2019, he was the head of the Laboratory for liquid chromatography mass spectrometric analysis at the "Technological Center for Emergency Medicine - Plovdiv", and from 2019 at the Department of "Bioorganic Chemistry" at the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Medical University - Plovdiv. From 2018 to 2020, he underwent several specializations to increase his qualifications in the field of chromatographic analysis and chemical metrology, at Paisii Hillendarski University of Plovdiv, the University of Tartu and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 2022, he was enrolled as a doctoral student of independent training at the Department of "Medical Biology" at the Medical University - Plovdiv, and in 2023 he defended his dissertation on the topic "Determination of oxidative stress using liquid chromatography with mass spectrometric detection"
His research interests are in the field of liquid chromatography mass spectrometric analysis and its application in metabolomics, oxidative stress and increased intestinal permeability.
To date, he has participated as a co-author in 17 publications related to the analysis of markers of oxidative stress, oncometabolites, local anesthetics, free fatty acids, markers of increased intestinal permeability, adipocytokines, etc., of which 10 are referenced in Scopus.
He is a member of the Bulgarian Medical Union and the Bulgarian Clinical Laboratory Society.
