Prof. Georgi Iskrov is Head of the Health Economics and Health Systems Research Group at the Research Institute of the Medical University of Plovdiv and Professor at the Department of Social Medicine and Public Health, Faculty of Public Health.
His research interests include health economics, health technology assessment, health policy, and the socioeconomic burden of disease, with a particular focus on rare diseases and access to innovative therapies. He has extensive experience in conducting scientific research and expert analyses related to the evaluation of healthcare interventions, cost-effectiveness, and health systems performance.
Prof. Iskrov serves on the editorial boards of the international scientific journals Orphanet Journal of Rare Diseases, Health Policy Open, and Cost Effectiveness and Resource Allocation.
