Education: Master's degree in Medicine at MU-Plovdiv (1993). Assistant Professor at the Department of General and Clinical Pathology, Medical University of Plovdiv (1994). Chief Assistant Professor at the Department (2006). Acquired specialty in “General and Clinical Pathology” and Cytopathology" (2000). In 2011, she launched a project for the study of genetic mutations in non-small cell lung carcinomas at the National Genetic Laboratory, Maichin Dom-Sofia, in which she participated as a pathologist-consultant to the company that financed the project – Product Project Development, Sofia.
The study led to the implementation of a dissertation on "Immunohistochemical and mutation-genetic correlations in non-small cell lung carcinomas" (2016).
In 2014, two projects were launched on the topic "Diagnostic, predictive and prognostic morphological studies in malignant epithelial tumors of the lung, pleura and breast". To ensure this project, a project for the creation and equipment of a Morphological Research Center under the leadership of Prof. Y. Koeva and Assoc. Prof. B. Anavi. The team includes Dr. Silvia Genova, Dr. Zhivko Peshev as lead researchers in both projects.

Currently she is Associate Professor at the Department of General and Clinical Pathology (since 2018). Author and co-author in over 40 publications in peer-reviewed journals and in journals indexed in WoS and Scopus. Published monograph and manual. Co-author of textbooks and teaching manuals for students. Participation in National and International Congresses and Seminars. She participates in scientific projects and supervises PhD students.
