Academic career: Associate Professor at the Department of Anatomy, Histology and Embryology (2004), since 2013 - Professor at the Department of Anatomy,
Histology and Embryology.
Head of the Morphological Research Center at the Medical University, Plovdiv (since 2014), member of the National Scientific Research Fund of the Ministry of Education and Science (since 2016).
Long-term specializations abroad: Institute of Anatomy 1, University of Hamburg, Germany (1997, 1998). Academic lectures and teaching activities in foreign universities within the framework of the Erasmus program.
Manager and researcher in international, national and intra-university competitively funded research projects.

Scientific research interests: in the field of cell differentiation and intercellular relationships in the male reproductive system, cellular and molecular neuropathology of mental illnesses, experimental neurobiology and pharmacology.
Author and co-author of scientific publications in refereed journals and collections, monographs and reports from participation in scientific forums in Bulgaria and abroad. Awards from participation in scientific congresses and projects; citations in foreign and Bulgarian journals.
Author and co-author of peer-reviewed textbooks, practical guides and teaching aids on anatomy in Bulgarian and English for students of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and at the Medical College.
Participant in semester, university and state examination committees in the specialty.
Scientific supervision and consultant to PhD students, graduates and students. Reviewer of research projects, articles in Bulgarian and foreign journals, dissertations, textbooks and teaching manuals. Member of scientific juries for the defense of doctoral dissertations and habilitations.
